Art City Toronto

Summer 2020

w Art City Summer 2020 students

Funded through the Canada Service Corps Rising Youth Grant

The project was constructed for Art City Toronto, a local non-for-profit that puts on free art classes for children in the St. James Town, Toronto community. The project was prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic restricting access to the Art City studio, meaning that all of the amazing work that the children create was not able to be shown off. The project was originally conceptualized as creating an outdoor, social distancing friendly way to display the artwork, which through working closely with the Art City coordinators had evolved into thinking about the ways something like this could be designed to be reused when in-person lessons resume. This resulting in a series of connected double sided pin-up boards which can be articulated to create spaces that support different learning processes and environments for children. This project was funded by the Rising Youth Community Service Grant.
