Ecological Weave

Ecological Weave is a research and deisgn project around landscapes of play, environmental health, and land use density focused on the Fern Ave. Public School Yard in Toronto, Ontario. The project looks to understand the ways in which these concepts can be supportive of one another and to challenge the single-minded idea that a school yard is for school children only. The project thinks through this space is an asset to the community as a whole, supporting not only cycles of human occupancy (both young and old) but also ecological occupancy and the way that this relationship enriches experience.
