Facade Studies

Fall 2020

The project is a natural daylighting simulation experiment for a ground level office space in Toronto, Ontario. The project compares six different glazing and shading scenarios looking to minimum lighting energy required for the space without overexposing working surfaces. Each iteration examines daylight availability (sDA and UDI), and annual glare (DGP) for the entire office. The experiment concluded that the final iteration, the light ledge, was the most successful in daylighting the space without over exposing it.
